Savannah Shotts, LCPC
In my work with individuals struggling with disordered eating and body image concerns, I draw on intuitive and attuned eating interventions, grounded in Health at Every Size (HAES) and body liberation principles. I strive to create a therapeutic environment where clients can explore their relationship with food and body free from judgment and aligned with their values of self-compassion and autonomy.
Before joining Midwest Counseling & Diagnostics, I provided individual and group therapy across higher levels of care for eating disorders, mood disorders, and trauma recovery at treatment centers in Chicago and Denver. These experiences have given me a deep appreciation for the complexities of healing, and a passion for helping clients bridge the gap between insight and lasting, embodied change.
Central to my approach is the belief that therapy is a collaborative and relational process. I prioritize building a foundation of trust, authenticity, and mutual curiosity, which allows clients to feel safe enough to explore what’s not working in their lives. I integrate ongoing psychoeducation, as I believe that understanding the “why” behind patterns and emotional responses is a vital step toward meaningful and sustainable transformation.
My intention in the therapy room is to support each client’s personal liberation—whether that means reclaiming autonomy, expanding their capacity for joy and connection, or shedding internalized narratives that no longer serve them. If you’re feeling exhausted by body shame and food guilt, seeking to heal the echoes of past trauma, or simply desiring a compassionate space to process life, it would be my honor to work alongside you.
Outside of my clinical work, I’m fueled by a love of adventure and creativity. You can often find me traveling to explore new cultures, getting my hands messy in a pottery studio, dancing wherever there’s music, or immersing myself in the beauty of nature.
