Focus: Eating disorders, substance use, LGBTQ+, shame, and grief/loss.
Biography: I believe change and growth occur through a collaborative, supportive therapeutic relationship. The therapeutic alliance can be a catalyst for increased self-awareness, gained insight, and values-based change. In a compassionate and non-judgmental environment, we will work together to address and process unresolved issues, as well as learn healthier, more effective ways to cope.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience working with diverse populations of various ages, cultures and backgrounds. My primary areas of experience include eating disorders, substance use, concerns related to the LGBTQ+ community, shame, and grief/loss. I utilize a strengths-based, solution focused perspective and offer therapeutic interventions with warmth and directness. My interventions most often include cognitive behavior therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and motivational approaches. I adopt elements of these interventions to create specific treatment plans based on each individual client's needs. If you believe I may be a good fit for you, or if you have questions about the therapeutic process and what it looks like, I would be more than happy to speak with you.
