This expansion reflects something we think about constantly: the more barriers we can remove, the more people can get the care they’ve been putting off. Cost and coverage are two of the most common reasons people delay or avoid mental health treatment entirely. Expanding the networks we participate in is one of the most concrete things we can do about that.

Midwest Counseling & Diagnostics provides outpatient mental health care for children, adolescents, and adults. Our clinicians work with clients across a wide range of presenting concerns, including:

• Anxiety and OCD
• Depression and mood disorders
• Trauma and PTSD
• Addiction and substance use
• Eating disorders
• Psychological and diagnostic testing

We work with clients at every stage, whether you’re navigating a new diagnosis, supporting a child who’s struggling, or returning to care after a gap. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you call.

Midwest has locations in Chicago (downtown), Northbrook, and Ohio. We also offer telehealth for clients who prefer to meet remotely and have clinicians that are able to provide services across 46 different states through Psypact. If you’re not sure which option is right for you, we can help you figure that out too.

Does Cigna cover therapy and mental health treatment?
Most Cigna plans include mental health benefits, and as an in-network provider, Midwest Counseling & Diagnostics can bill Cigna directly. Cigna administers behavioral health benefits through Evernorth – if you see Evernorth on your insurance card or explanation of benefits, that’s the same coverage.

What will services cost?
Your out-of-pocket cost will depend on your specific plan’s copay or deductible. We recommend calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card if you want to confirm your benefits before your first appointment, or just ask us and we can help you sort it out.

Does Midwest Counseling & Diagnostics offer therapy for kids and teenagers?
Yes. We have clinicians who specialize in working with children and adolescents, including support for anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, and behavioral concerns.

What if I’m not sure what kind of help I need?
That’s more common than you’d think. Reach out and tell us what’s going on! Our intake team can help point you toward the right clinician and the right type of care. You don’t need a referral or a prior diagnosis to get started.
