About Julia
Focus: Individual and family therapy related to anxiety, eating disorders, body image, depression, stress management, and life transitions.
Biography: Julia Burke, LCSW, is an empathetic therapist who is passionate about treating individuals and families across the spectrum of eating disorders, anxiety disorders (including OCD), body image and relational difficulties.
Julia brings experience in the behavioral health field at multiple sites and levels of care. In addition to working in the school system, she has experience working at behavioral health hospitals at the residential, partial-hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels of care. She has extensive experience working with adolescents, emerging adults and their families. She has received advanced training in Family Based Therapy for Anorexia Nerovosa in Adolescents from Stanford University School of Medicine. Julia is also certified in level 1 of Radically Open Behavioral Therapy (RO-DBT) and enjoys incorporating principles of RO-DBT into her work with clients. Julia implements evidence-based practices, including Exposure-Response-Prevention (ERP) therapy to clients with OCD.
Julia’s approach focuses on creating a safe and trusting environment with the client. Julia engages the individual, guiding them to connect with their true, authentic selves. She believes recovery is possible and joins the individual in the process of creating healthy and effective ways to cope, heal and connect with themselves and the world. Julia welcomes and affirms queer and neurodivergent folx, and actively works to be anti-racist in her work, and in life.
