About Emily
Focus: Individual therapy with adolescents and adults related to anxiety, eating disorders, substance use, spinal chord injuries, chronic health issues, relationships, and trauma.
Biography: As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, with over 16 years of experience, I work with adolescents and adults with eating disorders, substance abuse, depression, self harm, spinal cord injuries, and medically complex illnesses or injuries. I have worked in private practice and residential settings treating patients with eating disorders, substance abuse and mood disorders, and the leading rehabilitation hospital helping patients overcome catastrophic injuries, illnesses and losses.
My therapeutic approach center’s around Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptant and Commitment Therapy. Deciding to get help to make changes in one’s life, can be a challenging and overwhelming experience. I believe that building a trusting relationship where the client can feel safe is crucial in facilitating change towards a more meaningful life. I believe in treating the client holistically, tailoring treatment to the individual’s needs to meet the client where they are. Life can be a rollercoaster at times and helping people uncover their strength and resiliency can be a difficult and very rewarding process.
