Biography: Domenico is Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the state of Illinois. In 1999, Domenico graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a master’s degree in counseling.
Domenico celebrates racial, religious and cultural diversity as well as the full spectrum of sexual/gender orientations. He builds on the strengths of every individual, teaches mindfulness and has a calm and reassuring presence to create safety and trust. Domenico is an accepting and careful listener who will help you get to know yourself better and make choices based on your core values and life goals.
Domenico approaches psychotherapy with a trauma lens and works with each client or couple to build effective coping and communication skills, improve stress management, and understand how family of origin dynamics impact self-esteem and self-identity. Domenico helps couples to listen and support each other, repair past hurts, and uncover hope and love again.
In addition to his work as a therapist, Domenico is passionate about education and works at Northwestern University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences developing and implementing clinical trainings and resources for the Illinois Department of Child and Family Services.
Domenico is married and has three children, enjoys bicycling, reading, and the outdoors and draws inspiration from both Buddhist and Catholic values and practices. As a bilingual and bi-cultural son of an Italian immigrant he understands the immigrant experience.
