About Amy
Focus:Trauma, anxiety, depression, family therapy, parenting issues, child and adolescent behaviour.
Biography: Amy has twenty-five years of clinical expertise dedicated to working with adults, children, and families experiencing parent-child relational conflicts and disorders of adolescence such as anxiety, depression, and disruptive mood. With a passion for helping adults and adolescents recovering from complex traumatic experiences, Amy is a relationship-oriented therapist who creates an atmosphere of safety and trust, easing the way to focus on symptoms of anxiety, depression, and traumatic stress. Using a strength building approach to drive treatment, Amy guides clients through a self-discovery process that includes relaxation practices, self-regulation skills, and exploring the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that interfere with optimal functioning.
Amy graduated in 1996 with a master’s degree in social work from Loyola University Chicago and holds a License of Clinical Social Work. In addition, Amy is a nationally certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapist. Amy is married and the parent of an adolescent. She enjoys, baking, cooking, and boxing in her spare time.
