About Allison
Focus: Individual and family therapy for adolescents and young adults related to eating disorders, body image and embodiment, mood and anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and identity development.
Biography: Allison is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with experience working in behavioral health hospitals at the inpatient, residential, and partial- hospitalization levels of care. She is passionate about providing a space for her clients in which they can explore their experience of what it means to be human and in relationship with others. Allison is skilled at Family Based Therapy (FBT) and integrates the principles of Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RO-DBT) in her practice. Additionally, she draws upon Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) but remains flexible in her approach to best meet clients’ needs. When working with clients experiencing eating disorders, she aligns with the tenets of Health At Every Size (HAES®) Allison earned her bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Wheaton College and her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University. She has five years of experience treating eating disorders and is currently working towards becoming a certified eating disorder specialist through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp™).
