Neil Simonton, LCSW
Neil specializes in working with adults and adolescents to manage overwhelming thoughts and emotions, relationship difficulties, and behavioral patterns that get in the way of living the life we want for ourselves. Neil uses a relational, mindfulness-based therapeutic style that blends elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and the NeuroAffective Relational Model™. This tailored approach can create new possibilities for exploration and foster changes in perspective and behavior with greater self-compassion and authenticity.
Neil received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Western Illinois University and a Master of Social Work, concentrating in mental health, from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Neil is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and has additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and the NeuroAffective Relational Model™.
