About Mackenzie
Focus: Individual therapy related to children, adolescents and young adults coping with ADHD, life transitions, anxiety, depression, or working through traumatic experiences.
Biography: I am a Columbus, OH native who moved to Chicago in July of 2022.
I am currently pursuing my Doctorate at The Chicago Professional School of Psychology in order to become a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and will be supervised by Dr. Joy Ryba here at Midwest Counseling. I am a School Psychologist by trade, who made the move to full time private practice in the fall of 2024 after three years in the field. I made this shift in hopes of being able to work with more of the population at an individual treatment level. Prior to starting my career in School Psychology, I attended the University of Cincinnati for undergraduate work, where I earned a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. In 2018, I began my Masters and Education Specialist Degree program at The University of Toledo.
I am interested in meeting and working with clients at all stages of life, with all needs. Although I hold a special place in my heart for children, adolescents and young adults coping with ADHD, life transitions, anxiety, depression, or working through traumatic experiences. I have specific interests in CBT, DBT, goal-oriented work, mindfulness and ACT practices.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, playing video games, thrifting, tending to my plants, socializing with friends, and exploring Chicago with my long-term partner and our dog.
