Heather Keating, LCPC
Biography: Heather has years of experience working with mood and anxiety orders, trauma, OCD, relationship difficulties, psychosis, and non-suicidal self-injury.
While the journey to self-discovery and mental wellness can be challenging, it’s not one that needs to be embarked on alone. Heather believes that trust and collaboration are the foundations of a strong therapist-client relationship. Using warmth, directness and humor, Heather serves as a guide in navigating life’s complexities and works with clients to identify and address barriers to values-based living. Heather does this by teaching clients more effective ways to cope with painful thoughts and emotions, values identification, processing past experiences, challenging negative thought patterns, and most importantly by creating a safe space wherein clients can feel understood, connected, respected, and known.
Heather is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LCPC) with experience working with adults and emerging adults across higher levels of care. Heather received her undergraduate degree at George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, and holds a master’s degree in clinical counseling from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
Heather is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RODBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD and utilizes these evidenced based treatments in her practice.
