Biography: Dr. Hayley Bemel, PsyD, CADC, is a state licensed clinical psychologist. She earned her doctorate from Adler University with a specialization in Primary Care and Behavioral Medicine. She completed her APA-accredited doctoral internship and her post-doctoral fellowship at Primary Care Psychology Associates, LLC.
Dr. Bemel has worked in a variety of settings including outpatient substance abuse programs, community mental health centers, hospitals, and pain clinics. She is particularly interested in co-occurring mental health and medical conditions and working with individuals with general anxiety and stress, chronic pain, and adjusting to transitions in life.
Dr. Bemel conceptualizes each client through a multi-focused lens to combine cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and a biopsychosocial model as she believes this cultivates a strong therapeutic relationship, promotes positive change over time, and allows each client to embrace their identity. Viewing a diagnosis as a catalyst for healthy behavioral change is also congruent with Dr. Bemel’s approach.
