Focus: Medical nutrition therapy for eating disorders, mood disorders, and substance abuse
Biography: Umamah Fatima is a Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian (CEDRD) with a Masters in Nutrition and Wellness. Through extensive research, she has found the impact of nutrition on mental health and vice versa. She continues to stay well-informed about medical nutrition therapy for not only eating disorders, but varying topics related to nutrition. Over the past four years, Umamah has worked in treating adults and adolescents with eating disorders and mood disorders at the residential level of care. She hopes to help her clients rebuild a peaceful relationship with food and their body through intuitive eating and principles of health at every size. Umamah values the importance of balance, variety and moderation when it comes to food and movement. She enjoys traveling as it allows her to experience different cultures, traditions and food. Through her travels, Umamah has seen how food can be a connecting factor in society. Umamah is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the International Federation of Eating Disorder.
