Denise Styer, PsyD, LCPC
My therapeutic approach is compassionately direct. I meet individuals where they are, collaborate with them on their goals for treatment, and provide a nonjudgmental, safe space to be honest, curious, and real. My core values are authenticity, connection, creativity, integrity, and humor, and I bring those values into the therapeutic relationship. I also work with my clients to identify their own core values and explore how those values shape the decisions and choices they make in their lives.
I have spent much of my career working in higher level of care, including serving as the clinical director for eating disorder and self-injury programs, as well as evening intensive outpatient programs. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of the complexity of mental health challenges and, equally important, the courage it can take to ask for help.
Outside of my work, I am a mom, a lifelong learner, and someone who enjoys meaningful conversations, creativity, reading, music, and laughter.
